General Details

Utkarsh Tyre Coupling (UT/UTO)

A split tyre is securely attached to two hubs with adaptor plates fastened under bolt load. The advanced fiber reinforced tyre enhances the torque carrying capacity while retaining flexibility. This type serves as an elastomer in shear coupling. Under extreme overload situations, the tyre separates, disconnecting the driving and driven equipment to prevent damage. Tyre couplings offer superior torsional flexibility and can handle misalignment of up to 4° angular. The axial flexibility also enables it to accommodate significant end float. Their compact design optimizes the torque to length ratio. Additionally, during maintenance, the tyre can be easily replaced without disrupting the setup. As there are no friction surfaces involved, dirt or abrasive materials do not compromise the life of the coupling.

Features:

  • Exceptional misalignment tolerance: Parallel Max 6 mm, Angular Max 4 Degrees, End Float Max 6 mm
  • In the event of tyre failure, torque transmission halts, protecting equipment.
  • Enhanced protection against impact loads and severe shocks.
  • No lubrication required.
  • Maximum misalignment: Parallel 1.10mm to 4.80mm
  • Maximum misalignment: End Float 1.30mm to 6.00mm
  • Rated torque range: 21.01Nm to 28Nm
  • Torsional Stiffness range: 286 to 79,068 Nm/Radian
  • KW Rating at 100 rpm range: 0.22 to 57.40

Flexible Rubber Tyre Couplings in Pump Installations

With extensive experience in pump installations, the UNEFLEX elastic tyre coupling operates effectively in these contexts, accommodating strong misalignments and mitigating vibrations. During pump start-ups, the tyre coupling minimizes any significant vibrations or defects, demonstrating that the rubber can withstand inertia moments. Furthermore, the shock from engine start-ups is absorbed by this highly elastic coupling, enhancing the life span of both pump and gear.

Flexible Spacer Coupling

In addition to the currently available UNEFLEX flexible tyre couplings, UNE also manufactures spacer couplings, which consist of a UNEFLEX tyre coupling combined with a spacer flange assembly.

The spacer couplings are particularly designed to facilitate axial movement of either shaft without the need to remove the gear and pump.

UNEFLEX Flexible Rubber Spacer Coupling Easy to Remove

This tyre coupling design allows for the simple removal of mechanical seals, simplifying maintenance and repairs without moving either the pump or the gear. They adhere to standard distances for shaft end dimensions (D.B.S.E.), but we can custom design the coupling for your specific application needs.

Sectors Where UNEFLEX Flexible Tyre Coupling is Used in Pumps

UNEFLEX elastic tyre couplings are utilized in pumps across various industries, including paper mills, textile production, steel manufacturing, food processing, marine applications, and chemical industries.

Fields of Application for Couplings in Pumps

These couplings find application in centrifugal pumps in numerous industries:

  • Oil and Gas Chemical Industries: Pumps are vital for converting crude oil into end products while managing fluid and pressure transfer accurately.
  • Agriculture: Utilized in irrigation machinery.
  • Mining and Metallurgy Industries: These pumps primarily serve in draining and cooling operations.
  • Nuclear Plants: Require a high level of primary and secondary pump systems, alongside thermal power plants needing various types of pumps.
  • Military Applications: Hydraulic fluids are essential for the operation of aircraft, naval vessels, and tanks.
  • Shipbuilding: Diverse types of pumps are commonplace in shipbuilding operations.
  • Water Supply: Employed in municipal water supplies, drainage systems, and other applications requiring efficient liquid management.
